This interactive lesson is designed for young beginner ESL learners (Stage 2, ages 8–9). The theme Pets helps students expand their animal vocabulary, describe features, and practice grammar structures (I have / It has). Activities focus on building fluency through games, sentence formation, and phonics practice, while encouraging creativity and active participation.
The lesson integrates vocabulary practice, grammar focus, phonics (/c/ sound, plus a/an usage), and fun review activities. Students work step by step from single words to complete sentences and interactive dialogues, strengthening both speaking and listening skills.
Students choose a pet they like by dragging and dropping into a “like” square, then describe its colour in a short sentence.
Extended pet words: rabbit, turtle, parrot, hamster, dog.
Practice with comprehension questions (e.g., What is it? / What can a parrot do? / Is the hamster big or small?). Includes multiple-choice and context questions to reinforce understanding.
Students practice in pairs, alternating between the two structures. Games include:
70 lessons per stage, kids learning paths, per-child progress tracking and the full adult library.
