This engaging and language-rich lesson is designed for Stage 3 ESL learners (ages 9-10). The theme Dinosaurs helps students explore advanced dinosaur features and describe them using the grammar structures They have got … and There are … to talk about shared characteristics and numbers.
The lesson integrates vocabulary development, grammar practice, phonics focus (/c/–/s/ sound), tricky word recognition, speaking fluency, movement challenges, and memory games. Students move from identifying and naming dinosaur features to confidently producing full descriptive sentences.
Activities are interactive, visually supported, and suitable for 1:1 lessons or small groups, online or offline. Learning is scaffolded from vocabulary recall to sentence-level explanations and ends with a fun review game to consolidate learning.
