This fun and imaginative lesson is designed for young beginner ESL learners (Stage 1, ages 7–8). The theme Space and Planets introduces children to basic space vocabulary while learning how to use simple adjectives to make sentences more interesting.
Students practise describing objects using short sentences such as This is a fast rocket and This is a big planet. The lesson combines vocabulary building, grammar practice, phonics focus (/ch/ sound), speaking activities, and movement games to support confidence and early sentence building.
Activities are short, highly visual, and interactive, making the lesson suitable for 1:1 lessons or small groups, online or offline. Learning is scaffolded from single-word vocabulary to simple descriptive sentences and ends with a fun review game.
Key words: sun, moon, star, planet, rocket, sky
Students practise vocabulary through picture games, shadow guessing, listening tasks, and drawing activities.
Students practise correcting sentences, adding adjectives, and saying complete sentences with teacher support.
